Brooke began singing and writing music at the age of 8, inspired at the time by the cute sixth grader living next door to her suburban home in Saint Louis, Missouri. Shortly thereafter, he moved, and the following years were spent focusing on dance, jazz standards, and theatre. At 16, Brooke was the youngest member of aTrek Dance, a professional touring company based out of St. Louis.
Cut to the turn of the millennium. She picked up songwriting again while playing bass, singing harmonies, and dancing as part of two prominent indie San Francisco bands. Notable venues include the Red Devil Lounge, Tongue and Groove, Bottom of the Hill, and Cow Palace.
While based in Hollywood, Brooke played local venues like The Mint and Room 5 with her trio, and toured the South and Northwest as a solo artist.
As part of the Saint Louis Cabaret Conference (2015/2016), Brooke had the pleasure of working with two Tony award winning actresses, Faith Prince and Christine Ebersole, Platinum Award winning writer and vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway, Emmy and Grammy winning composer Billy Stritch, Broadway musical director Tedd Firth, legendary jazz vocalist Marilyn Maye, American Idol's Peisha McPhee, and Tony award winning composer Jason Robert Brown. Brooke was also featured as an opener for Jason Robert Brown's incredible concert at the Sheldon Concert Hall in Saint Louis.
While in San Francisco, Brooke was a regular performer at Society Cabaret and Martuni's Piano Bar. She debuted her solo cabaret show on August 8th, 2015 at Society Cabaret and was named San Francisco's Best New Cabaret Artist for 2016. Her second solo show, directed by Faith Prince, played at The Monocle in St. Louis, MO, Angelica's in Redwood City, and SF's Feinstein's At The Nikko. For her most recent concert - at Angelicas in early 2020 - Brooke performed a full evening of her original material, featuring Bobby Weinapple (guitar), Laura Boytz (cello), Stephanie Lynne Smith (piano), Carey McCray (vocals), and Calum Grant (vocals/ukulele).
Favorite theatrical roles include Kathy in Company, Sam in the workshop production of Burwell & Sasser's Bottle Shock, Judy Turner in A Chorus Line, and Zelda in the world premiere of Dream World, by Richard Link and Adam Sandel.
By day, Brooke has enjoyed working with youngsters in the performing arts for organizations such as Bay Area Children's Theatre in Oakland, Synergy Theatre in Alameda, Music For Aardvarks and FOGG Playhouse in San Francisco, and Mackintosh Academy in Boulder.
